Those who read last year’s Court of Appeals Review[1] may recall the discussion of Mahoney-Buntzman[2] and Johnson v. Chapin.[3]  The view was there expressed that those decisions were a rather hopeless harbinger of an ongoing deterioration in the quality of judicial decisions coming to pass in the domestic relations field.  The work-product of the court in 2010 does nothing to reverse that opinion.  Indeed, this year may be seen in retrospect as the point in time when even the pretense to intellectual honesty in the courts has fallen away.
